Recapping the Cowboys week

IRVING, Texas -- The biggest story of the week for the Dallas Cowboys involved a player who would not have played Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles: Jay Ratliff.

The Cowboys cut Ratliff, who was eligible to come off the physically unable to perform list this week, severing ties with their four-time Pro Bowler because they weren’t sure when or if he would get on the field again.

The Ratliff move is more of a sign of how Jason Garrett has changed the Cowboys, according to Jean-Jacques Taylor.

For all of their defensive line woes, Tim MacMahon wonders why didn’t the Cowboys draft a guy.

Sunday will be Tony Romo’s 100th regular-season start with the Cowboys. Jerry Jones remembers when he knew Romo would be a player here.

JJT says Romo should be appreciated more.

Calvin Watkins talks about the strong start of left tackle Tyron Smith.

Keep an eye on Dez Bryant vs. Cary Williams Sunday. There’s a history between the two.
