IRVING, Texas -- A few thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys' seventh-round pick.
The pick: Wyoming linebacker Mark Nzeocha
My take: The Cowboys roster is now flooded with linebackers. They added three in free agency, kept Rolando McClain and now they have drafted two linebackers to go with what is on the roster. It seems a little much in a 4-3 scheme, but the Cowboys wanted to get faster and more athletic.
Still a Cowboy: A German native, Nzeocha played club football for the Franken Knights Youth Team and was a member of the German national team before heading to Wyoming. He is coming back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament last year but had 59 tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and five pass deflections in seven games. He started playing football in the United States just five years ago. He turned 25, so he is older than most draft picks. Like the five previous draft picks, he was a pre-draft visitor to Valley Ranch.
