FRISCO, Texas -- Whether true or not, when Ed Hochuli works a game, his crew seems flag-happy.

In their 27-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys were called for five penalties for 54 yards. The Falcons had five penalties for 35 yards.

Bill Vinovich, who will work Sunday’s game between the Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, called five total penalties for 55 yards in the Minnesota Vikings’ win against the Washington Redskins. The Vikings were penalized three times for 40 yards. The Redskins had two penalties for 15 yards.

In the second half, Vinovich’s crew called just one penalty and it came in the third quarter. How refreshing.

Since 2012, Vinovich has worked six Cowboys games and Dallas has a 4-2 record in those contests, including a Week 2 win last year at Washington. In the six games, the Cowboys have been flagged 30 times for 282 yards, while their opponents have been flagged 41 times for 318 yards.

Here is a breakdown of the work of Vinovich’s crew last week:

False start – 1

Roughing the passer – 1

Unsportsmanlike conduct – 1

Offensive holding – 2

First – 2

Second – 2

Third – 1

Fourth – 0
