Cowboys to work out four players

OXNARD, Calif. – Short on defensive linemen for the second time in camp because of injuries, the Cowboys will work out three players to try to fill the void, as well as an offensive lineman.

Eric Bakhtiari, who has played for six team since 2008 and played in five games last year for San Francisco, Toby Jackson, who was not picked in the recent supplemental draft, and Bobby Skinner, who has spent time with the New York Giants the last two training camps, will be auditioned.

The Cowboys are without backups Ike Igbinosun (ankle) and Cameron Sheffield (groin) and needed to sign George Selvie and Landon Cohen last week when Tyrone Crawford went out with a torn Achilles and Anthony Spencer needed knee surgery.

Offensive guard Rokevious Watkins will also work out for the Cowboys. Ray Dominguez did not practice Monday because of an injury. Watkins was a fifth-round pick last year by St. Louis but spent most of his rookie season on injured reserve with an ankle injury. He was cut last week. He is facing a one-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
