Fiesta Bowl: Some TCU notes

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- These notes are courtesy of the TCU media relations department:

*TCU trailed at the half for just the second time this season. The Horned Frogs were also down 10-7 at the break to Clemson before rallying for a 14-10 victory.

*Anson Kelton's first-half 62- and 65-yard punts are the second and third-longest of his career, surpassed only by a 72-yard kick earlier this season at Air Force.

*Bart Johnson had a first-quarter reception to extend his team-best streak to 22 consecutive games with at least one catch.

*Ryan Christian's five receptions for 40 yards tie a season-high set against Utah. It's one short of a career-high six catches he had in last year's Poinsettia Bowl versus Boise State and a 2007 contest at Air Force.

*The Jan. 4 date for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl marks the latest in a season that TCU has played. The Horned Frogs had previously played three times (1939 Sugar Bowl, 1948 Delta Bowl, 1956 Cotton Bowl) on Jan. 2.

*TCU is playing its fifth consecutive bowl game in a stadium that's also hosted a Super Bowl. The Horned Frogs played in the 2005 Houston Bowl and 2007 Texas Bowl at Reliant Stadium as well as the 2006 and 2008 Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
