Home run not enough for Lamar, 6-4

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Baylor added two runs in the top of the eighth on a two-RBI Max Muncy hit, then tried to ride reliever Josh Turley to a win.

Lamar had other plans. Turley, who pitched 2 2/3 innings, put two on base in the bottom of the ninth for catcher Joey Latulippe, who launched a home run over the left field wall to bring Lamar within two, 6-4.

The Bears pulled Turley and brought in center fielder Brooks Pinckard to close. Pickard got the save, his 11th of the season, without allowing the final two batters on base.

Lamar is eliminated from the Fort Worth Regional, while Baylor will play the loser of tonight's game at 2 p.m Sunday.
