Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe said he won't even think about moving the Texas-Oklahoma Red River Rivalry to a date later in the season, even though it would be in the league's best interest without a championship game after the conference shrinks to 10 teams in 2011.
"The major consideration is to keep the traditions of the conference as well as we can, and the tradition of the game that game has been around the State Fair of Texas," Beebe said at Big 12 media days in Irving. "I don't see that really being something we would want to mess with. It's just too important to those institutions, this region and so forth."
The OU-UT game is under contract to be played at the Cotton Bowl at Fair Park through 2015.
