Texas Tech has hired Jim Turner as its new offensive line coach, the school announced on Wednesday.
Turner coached the offensive line at Texas A&M under Mike Sherman from 2008 to now, developing it into one of the team's strengths. Sherman was fired on Dec. 1.
Turner will replace Matt Moore on Tech's staff under coach Tommy Tuberville.
Turner will remain with the Aggies through their bowl game, where he'll replace Sherman as the offensive playcaller in this month's Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas against Northwestern.
Turner played at Boston College before joining the Marines. He coached at Delaware, Temple and Harvard before joining Sherman's staff.
