Denton's Tim Tadlock named Tech baseball coach

Tim Tadlock has been named head baseball coach at Texas Tech, athletic director Kirby Hocutt announced Thursday.

Tadlock, who had been serving as the interim coach since the firing of Dan Spencer last month, will be introduced as the Red Raiders' ninth coach at noon Friday. He joined the program as associated head coach last fall.

The Denton native was an assistant at Oklahoma from 2006-11, helping the Sooners to five NCAA tournament trips and a College World Series appearance in 2010. He also spent nine seasons as head coach at Grayson County Junior College, guiding the school to NJCAA World Series titles in 1999 and 2000.
