After one second was put back on the clock, and Hunter Lawrence nailed the game-winning 46-yard field goal, Texas can finally put to bed all the BCS "what-if" scenarios.
UT controlled their destiny all along. And now their destiny is to play for the national championship against SEC champ Alabama on Jan. 7 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
"I don't think there could be a better matchup than Texas and Alabama," UT coach Mack Brown said. "It's exciting to sit here at 13-0.
"Sounds like Alabama put a full game together [vs. Florida], as we'll have to in that game because Alabama's such a great team."
