Imagine this scenario, Baylor supporters...

NEW ORLEANS -- The South Region is already considered lightweight compared to, say, the Midwest. No. 3 Baylor is getting set to face No. 14 Sam Houston State with some interesting developments taking shape.

First off, No. 11 Old Dominion just held off No. 6 Notre Dame. So, with a win Baylor would face the Monarchs on Saturday, with a trip to the Sweet 16 in Houston on the line.

And, in Providence, R.I., No. 15 Robert Morris is trying to hold off No. 2 Villanova late in the second half.

If the Colonials hang on for the monumental upset, Baylor -- let's assume they get to Houston -- would play either Robert Morris, Richmond or St. Mary's.

Remarkably, that would put Baylor on a path to the Elite 8 without having to face a team from a BCS conference. Even if Villanova pulls it out, this team looks to have major issues.

What a crazy year.
