The Cowboys turned down a chance to trade second-year tight end Martellus Bennett to the Cincinnati Bengals at the trade deadline on Tuesday.
Bennett said nobody on the team confirmed the deal, saying he heard about it "from you guys" in the media. Bennett said he did work out for the Bengals before the draft so he knows some of the offensive coaches.
"Just know that what I do is respected by other teams around the league," Bennett said. "To be respected as a player, no matter where it's at, it's one of the things that you ask for when you go out there every day."
