ARLINGTON -- Two drives described just what the Cowboys are going through in this first half. Struggling. Dallas trails the Chargers, 10-3, at halftime at Cowboys Stadium.
Dallas used a wonderful ball control drive going into the late stages of the first half. It took them 15 plays and 68 yards and they gained nothing. On a fourth and goal from the Chargers one, Marion Barber was stopped for no gain. Inside linebacker Brandon Siler stopped Barber, he was untouched near the line of scrimmage.
Nick Folk was wide left on the 42-yarder with 42 seconds to play.
Folk has missed six of his last 10 kicks and is o-4 on kicks between 40-49 yards. The Cowboys have to be worried about Folk and his confidence.
First Folk said his struggled were attributed to hip surgery. Folk sais he normally starts his offseason program by kicking in April, the surgery pushed his workouts to start two weeks before training camp.
Then, there was the holder situation. Punter Mat McBriar was lunging for the ball and missing his spots. Tony Romo is the holder now, so what's the excuse now?
Dallas trails, 10-3, at halftime despite holding the ball for 60 percent of the game.
