The Cowboys have 79 players under contract and when second-round pick linebacker Sean Lee signs on Friday, it would put the team at the league mandated 80-man limit.
A roster move could be in the works for the Cowboys.
Team executive vice president Stephen Jones said he's fine numbers wise with the roster, yet, something could happen.
The Dolphins are seeking a defensive end now that Phillip Merling is out for the season with an Achilles injury and the Cowboys might part with one of their ends. Wade Phillips likes to have as many linebackers as possible, especially ones who can rush the passer, so adding one is an option.
The Cowboys also have a three-man (Cletis Gordon, Jamar Wall and Bryan McCann) battle for the fourth cornerback spot, and maybe the Cowboys cut one to make it a two-man race to clear some room for a linebacker.
"We're looking at some things with our roster, though," Jones said. "Maybe a guy could be coming to camp and maybe even an addition at another positions. It'd be for the start of camp."
