David Buehler ends first half on a positive

ARLINGTON -- The first half ended with a few questions answered.

David Buehler attempted his first field goal in two games, when he made a 51-yarder at the first half gun to tie the score, 10-10.

The play was setup by a pass reception by wide receiver Kevin Ogletree. However, Ogletree, who did a nice job of catching the ball near the sidelines, should have run toward the sidelines, but stayed toward the middle of the field.

The Cowboys had to use a timeout, their last, to setup the field goal try.

Things we liked from the first half

Victor Butler had two sacks, forcing one fumble and seems to be all over the field.

Akwasi Owusu-Ansah had two returns averaging 17 yards, but did a nice job of finding seams in the coverage to get down field.

Chris Gronkowski is getting most of the reps over Deon Anderson at fullback. He's holding his blocks well and in a tight battle with Anderson, might get the edge.

Things we didn't like in the first half

The two backup offensive linemen struggled.

Guard Montrae Holland, who might start the season opener at Washington, was called for two false starts.

Tackle Alex Barron, who also might start at Washington, was called for a holding and gave up a sack.

Linebacker Jason Williams is athletic, but still trying to figure things out. He was called fora pass interference on a pass play inside the red zone. You can't have that.
