DeMarcus Ware: We're coming after Cutler

IRVING, Texas – Bears quarterback Jay Cutler’s 372 passing yards in Week 1 jump off the page. But another stat might be a better indicator of what’s to come Sunday at Cowboys Stadium.

The Lions sacked Cutler four times in the season opener. It’d be a surprise if the Cowboys don’t at least match that total.

Chicago’s offensive line, which allowed Cutler to be sacked 35 times last season, is suspect to say the least. Plus, Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz doesn’t exactly put a premium on pass protection, preferring to send as many receivers as possible into routes.

That’s a dangerous philosophy when you’re facing a defensive coordinator as creative as Wade Phillips, especially when he has weapons like DeMarcus Ware.

“Any offensive coordinator needs to worry about protection because we've got a lot of guys coming -- me, Bradie James, Keith Brooking, Anthony Spencer,” Ware said. “That's what we do. We're a really good pass-rush team. We're going to be coming.”
