IRVING, Texas -- Sam Hurd is missing his third straight day of practice because of headaches and his absence would hamper the Cowboys’ already thin wide receiver corps and special teams Sunday at Philadelphia.
Hurd has been battling migraines since the Christmas night loss at Arizona. With Hurd and Roy Williams (groin) banged up, the Cowboys have only three healthy wide receivers on the 53-man roster in Miles Austin, Manny Johnson and Teddy Williams. Johnson and Williams do not have a catch to their credit.
Linebacker Bradie James was not at practice, however, his wife is expecting the couple’s first child. James has been limited in practice for most of the year with a knee injury, but he took part in a full workout on Thursday.
Quarterback Jon Kitna (oblique) is not practicing, but he has thrown some passes for the first time this week.
Newly-signed kicker Kris Brown handled some kickoff duties during the portion of practice that was open to the media, but interim head coach Jason Garrett said David Buehler would be the kicker Sunda.
