SAN ANTONIO -- Running back DeMarco Murray, a third-round pick, agreed to a four-year deal with the team. He is the last of the Cowboys' eight picks to sign.
Murray, the 71st overall pick, will not be able to practice right away. He is recovering from a hamstring injury that could keep him out during the team's two-week camp at the Alamodome.
The 5-foot-11, 213-pound Murray, who set the Oklahoma record with 6,498 all-purpose yards, is expected to compete with Tashard Choice for carries behind new starter Felix Jones. Murray is a good blocker and receiver who is likely to earn the third-down back role. Murray is also a candidate to return kickoffs.
