ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Cowboys have agreed to terms with cornerback Orlando Scandrick with a five-year extension worth $27 million with $10 million guaranteed, according to a source.
Scandrick, a fifth-round pick in the 2008 NFL draft, has started just nine of 48 games in his career. He's compiled just two interceptions. However, Scandrick is viewed as a valued member of the secondary, who currently is in the starting lineup with injuries to cornerbacks Mike Jenkins and Terence Newman.
Scandrick was entering the last year of his contract and the team felt a need to lock up one of it's younger players.
