The Cowboys claimed fullback Tony Fiammetta off waivers, according to agent Dennis Boyev.
The Panthers released the 6-foot, 242-pound Fiammetta in final cuts Saturday. He was a fourth-round pick out of Syracuse in 2009 and started nine games last season.
Fiammetta, 25, was used almost solely as a lead blocker for Carolina. He had only seven carries for 22 yards and five catches for 34 yards in two seasons. He also made six tackles on special teams.
The Cowboys released guard Montrae Holland to make room on the roster for Fiammetta. They will have to make one more cut when guard Derrick Dockery's one-year deal becomes official.
