IRVING, Texas -- Even though Dez Bryant missed his second straight day of practice with a bruised thigh, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said the second-year wide receiver will play Sunday at San Francisco.
Bryant suffered the injury in the first half of Sunday’s loss at the New York Jets and did not have a catch in the second half. He needed an intravenous fluid in the second half as well.
Coach Jason Garrett has said a player must practice at least a little during the week in order to play on gameday, so it is possible Bryant will practice Friday, which is mostly dedicated to red zone and short-yardage work.
“He’s capable of making game-winning plays for us without that rep,” Jones said. “While we want him to evolve and do the things you do with experience, if he’s healthy he’s valuable to us.”
