IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys have a bunch of bumps, bruises and much worse injuries, and they'll take advantage of the additional day before their Monday night game against the Redskins.
Coach Jason Garrett said the Cowboys wouldn't practice Tuesday or Wednesday. NFL teams typically take Tuesday off, so Garrett is essentially opting to push the normal week back a day instead of holding an extra practice.
"We're also going to give them Wednesday off and try to catch up a little bit on the rehab and try to get some guys healthy," Garrett said. "The players will be in here lifting and doing their rehab and doing some work on their own for the Redskins game."
The Cowboys hope cornerback Terence Newman, who has been sidelined since early August with a strained groin, can make his season debut Monday night. They're also optimistic that Dez Bryant will be able to practice and play after sitting out last week with a bruised quadriceps.
