ARLINGTON, Texas --While Tony Romo’s fractured ribs were most of the story during the week and during Monday’s game, tight end Jason Witten also played through a rib injury of his own Monday and responded with six catches for 60 yards.
“I feel good,” Witten said after the game. “A little sore.”
Late in the second quarter, Witten removed the extra protection he was wearing for his ribs and played without it in the second half when he caught four passes for 53 yards.
“It was getting sweaty, so I felt the tape there was kind of wobbly so I took it off,” Witten said. “I’ll be alright.”
In three games, Witten has 19 catches for 272 yards. It’s the second-best start of his career. He had 20 catches in the first three games of the 2008 season.
