Loper, Wrotto set for Cowboys workout

IRVING, Texas -- Not only will the Cowboys look at a familiar face in Montrae Holland for a workout today at Valley Ranch, but they will evaluate Daniel Loper and Mansfield Wrotto as well.

Loper, a Texas Tech-ex, has started nine of 58 games over six seasons with Tennessee, Detroit and Oakland. He was a fifth-round pick of the Titans in 2005. Wrotto, who was a fourth-rounder by Seattle in 2007, has played in 27 games with 12 starts. He started seven games for Buffalo last year.

Given Holland’s experience in this offense he would have the advantage provided he is in good shape. He worked out for Detroit earlier this year. Holland, who received a $500,000 roster bonus after the lockout ended, was penciled in to be the starter after Leonard Davis was cut. He suffered a back injury early in training camp and worked on his conditioning while playing in only one preseason game before he was released.
