First quarter: Eagles 14, Cowboys 0

PHILADELPHIA --We've got the makings of a blowout at Lincolin Financial Field.

Eagles off to quick start: For the first time this season the Cowboys defense allowed scores on the first two drives of the game. The Cowboys tried to blitz with Gerald Sensabaugh and failed to contain the Eagles. On the first score of the game, Michael Vick threw a short pass to Jeremy Maclin, who with good blocking scored on a 12-yard reception for a 7-0 lead. The second score came on LeSean McCoy's 2-yard touchdown run for the 14-0 lead.

Tyron Smith with rough start: Rookie right tackle Tyron Smith allowed one sack and failed to protect during a twist on the first possession of the game. Smith couldn't handle a spin move by defensive end Jason Babin as he got to Tony Romo for a sack for a 7-yard loss. Later in the drive, the Eagles did a twist and defensive tackle Trevor Laws came from the edge and beat Smith inside for another sack, this time for a 2-yard loss.

Surprise inactive: Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent was inactive for the first time this season. It's not because he hasn't played well but the Cowboys were trying to get kicker David Buehler active this week, and someone had to sit. Rookie Bruce Carter made his debut after the Cowboys cut running back Tashard Choice on Saturday morning. The rest of the inactives: Stephen McGee, Felix Jones, Kevin Kowalski, David Arkin, Daniel Loper and Clifton Geathers.
