IRVING, Texas -- Miles Austin is ready to return to the field following a four-game absence because of a hamstring injury and Laurent Robinson is ready to go after a two-day absence from practice because of a shoulder injury.
That should help a Cowboys’ offense against the New York Giants’ 29th-ranked pass defense Sunday at Cowboys Stadium.
Austin had hoped to return last week against Arizona, but the extra week helped him get more in tune with the game plan during the week of practice. He said his leg feels good and he does not expect to knock off any rust in terms of getting used to Tony Romo again.
“I’m just saying in the way of the actual fundamentals of running routes, we have a good feel,” Austin said.
Robinson injured his shoulder last week at Arizona on a short catch but was able to return. He will continue to wear extra protection under his shoulder pads.
“It felt good to be running around and it felt good to be back with the guys,” Robinson said. “The shoulder felt good. I’m ready to roll for Sunday.”
