IRVING, Texas -- Elements should not be a factor at Cowboys Stadium but the plan for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants is to keep the roof open.
There is a slight chance of rain Sunday, which could change the plan, with a high of 53 degrees and a low of 43.
The team wanted to make sure fans would be prepared for the cooler-than-normal temperatures by announcing the possibility of the roof being open. The doors will be closed.
The Cowboys practiced outside all week with temperatures in the 40s perhaps to help prepare for the roof being open.
While the move might be made at least partially for NBC’s overhead shots during Sunday Night Football, the Cowboys have been successful when the roof has been opened. In the short history of the stadium they are 2-0 with the roof open.
Anything to help end a two-game losing streak to the Giants in Arlington.
