Abram Elam misses walkthrough, expected to play

Dallas Cowboys starting strong safety Abram Elam missed Saturday's walkthrough practice because of a family matter. Team officials expect Elam to play in Sunday night's game against the New York Giants at Cowboys Stadium.

Elam missed the last two days to attend the funeral of his father, Donald Elam Sr., who passed away last week.

Also, new call-up wide receiver Andre Holmes, who was expected to play on special teams, missed the walkthrough with a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for the game.

Special teams ace Danny McCray did some work at the walkthrough session and is a game-time decision. He is trying to recover from a high-ankle sprain.

McCray is listed as doubtful on the injury report.
