Derrick Dockery getting first-team snaps

IRVING, Texas -- With starting left guard Montrae Holland out for the season with a torn biceps muscle in his left arm, the Cowboys have moved Derrick Dockery into his spot.

Dockery was getting first-team reps during Wednesday's practice.

The Cowboys like Dockery's experience, nine-year pro, and size, 6-6, 325 pounds, in their matchup against the New York Giants front. He started in the Week 2 game at San Francisco. If Dockery doesn't start the Cowboys could move Kevin Kowalski into the position. Kowalski replaced Holland in the third quarter of the Eagles game after he was injured. Dockery it should be noted was inactive for the game.

Kowalski gives the Cowboys some flexibility because he can play both guard spots and center so might remain as the backup. it's also possible, tackle Jermey Parnell will be the swing tackle for the game as he was last week.
