When the Dallas Cowboys selected Dez Bryant with the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, they did so thinking that Bryant would be one of the most electric wide receivers in the league. Could 2012 be his breakout year?
Bryant had a solid rookie season before putting up even better numbers last year. In 2011, he had 63 receptions for 928 yards with nine touchdowns, but with the circumstances Bryant has dealt with early in his career, it's easy to think no one has seen the best he can be.
"Last year with the lockout, I thought I felt comfortable," Bryant said. "Now, I guess each year I feel a little more comfortable. It just makes me want to go out and play more and more. I want to continue to keep learning because I feel the more I learn, the better and the slower the game gets."
Bryant is just one member of a talented wide receiving corps. Miles Austin and Bryant lead the pack of talented to receivers, but the question is who takes the No. 3 spot?
"To be honest, all the wideouts are great," Bryant said. "All the wideouts have been doing a fantastic job. From what I see, it's kind of hard. Either guy could fill that slot. They've really been showing they're worthy of it."
One reason Bryant is excited for the upcoming season is having a whole offseason in the weight program.
"It affected me big time," Bryant said. "I feel much quicker. I'm coming out of my breaks faster. I got in shape real quick. I know all the other guys have been going through the same workouts, so I'm sure they feel the same exact way. I feel like the team is just really ready to go. I'm not going to predict anything, but I know we're ready to go."
