W2W4: Cowboys enter the weekend

OXNARD, Calif. --Here's the deal for Saturday.

The debut of Gerald Sensabaugh: The starting safety will practice for the first time this summer Saturday. He's missed the first four days of training camp as he recovered from knee surgery. Sensabaugh has said he feels good about his health and is ready to practice. He said he has the mental reps down and now he just needs to get some work on the field. One thing we noticed from Friday's conditioning test is Mike Jenkins joined Sensabaugh to help him finish in time.

No Jay Ratliff again: The starting nose tackle will miss the practice session, but he has been able to participate in the morning walkthroughs and appears to be moving well. With Ratliff out, Josh Brent and Sean Lissemore are getting valuable snaps with the first-and-second team units at nose tackle.

Scandrick moves to first-team: Orlando Scandrick is a forgotten man these days, but he's gotten as many first-team reps alongside Brandon Carr at corner this summer. This includes the offseason workouts. With Claiborne expected to miss some time with a sore knee, Scandrick moves to the first-team again. He's struggled at times to make plays as an outside corner this camp.

Watch out for Ben Bass?: Coach Jason Garrett mentioned several defensive linemen during a Friday news conference and this included Ben Bass, a 6-5 283 pound defensive tackle from Texas A&M. It will be interesting how he plays Sunday for the Blue and White scrimmage.

Doug Free playing well: We always talk about Tyron Smith's play at left tackle, well look out for Doug Free's work on the right side. He's done a nice job of blocking on the pass rush and continues to push people around in the run game.
