IRVING, Texas – It’s officially Giants Week.
The Cowboys will have a walkthrough today at Valley Ranch and the team will discuss its decisions regarding the 53-man roster. They may even make some of their cuts instead of waiting. They don’t have time to wait.
To paraphrase Jason Garrett: The Cowboys have to play the New York Football Giants at MetLife Stadium at 7:30 p.m. in six days.
“Everything picks up this week,” cornerback Brandon Carr said after Wednesday’s preseason finale vs. Miami. “Make no mistake about it: This is the most important week for the Dallas Cowboys. Simple as that. We’re going to New York. They won it all last year. They have it right now, so it’s up to us to play our best and prepare our best beforehand, especially now.”
Carr was not around in January when the Cowboys lost to the Giants, 31-17, in an NFC East title game, but he may as well have been.
“That’s one of the first videos I saw, was the New York-Dallas game. And coming from Kansas City, I felt the same way about our season last year so I guess that taste is in a lot of guys’ mouths,” Carr said. “That’s the good thing about sports: You go out the next year and try to prove yourself again. We have an opportunity. Everybody is 0-0 right now and it’s up to us to put on a good show and hopefully come away with more wins than losses and ultimately come home with the Super Bowl trophy.”
