IRVING, Texas – The chances of DeMarco Murray playing Sunday at Philadelphia were remote anyway, but the Cowboys' running back is not on the practice field Friday and it looks like he will miss his third straight game with a sprained foot.
Murray was in helmet and cleats for the first time since getting hurt in the first half against Baltimore on Oct. 14 for rehab on Thursday but spent most of the open portion of practice to the media inside the weight room.
“We’re still trying to pass some thresholds,” coach Jason Garrett said before practice of Murray’s rehab. “He is making progress, there’s no question about that.”
Nose tackle Jay Ratliff returned to the practice field for the first time this week. He suffered a sprained left ankle at Atlanta last week but the team expects him to be able to play Sunday against the Eagles.
Cornerback Mike Jenkins is on the practice field after sitting out Thursday’s session with back spasms that required an MRI. Coach Jason Garrett is hopeful Jenkins will be able to play Sunday. Linebacker Dan Connor is on the practice field for the third straight day but did not take any first-team special teams snaps and is likely to miss his second straight game because of a stinger.
