ARLINGTON, Texas – DeMarco Murray will miss his fifth straight game because of a sprained left foot after the Cowboys de-activated the second-year running back before Sunday’s game against Cleveland.
Murray had been listed as doubtful on the official injury report. With a quick turnaround, it’s possible Murray will not play Thursday against the Redskins either.
Mackenzy Bernadeau will make his first career start at center with Ryan Cook inactive because of a knee injury. Bernadeau played center some in the preseason when he was with Carolina. He took the bulk of the first-team snaps during the week of practice and worked with Tony Romo on snaps two hours before kickoff.
Derrick Dockery will start at right guard. Kevin Kowalski, who has only practiced for the last two weeks and was activated to the 53-man roster on Saturday, will serve as the backup center. He opened the season on the physically unable to perform list because of severe tendinitis that required surgery in training camp.
Cornerback Mike Jenkins will miss his second straight game because of a back injury. Wide receiver Andre Holmes, guard David Arkin, center Phil Costa and defensive end Sean Lissemore are also inactive.
