Cowboys will wear decal to honor Jerry Brown

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys will wear a No. 53 decal on their helmets to honor the memory of linebacker Jerry Brown for the rest of the season, starting with Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh at Cowboys Stadium.

The Cowboys will also have a moment of silence before the game to remember Brown. The NFL has asked teams to hold a moment of silence for the victim’s of Friday’s school shooting in Connecticut.

Brown was killed last week in a single-car accident in which teammate Josh Brent has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Brown’s funeral is being held today in St. Louis. The Cowboys held a memorial service for him Tuesday in Oak Cliff. The Cowboys have kept Brown’s locker intact at Valley Ranch. Last week in Cincinnati they had a locker in his memory and placed his No. 53 jersey on the bench during the game.
