Sources: Josh Brent won't be allowed on sideline

Josh Brent will not be permitted to be on the Dallas Cowboys' sideline the remainder of the season, team and league sources said Tuesday.

The team and league office were unaware that Brent, who is on the reserve/non-football injury list as a result of being charged with intoxication manslaughter two weeks ago in the crash that killed teammate Jerry Brown, would be on the sideline. Both the team and the league are in complete agreement that it was not appropriate.

Several of Brent's teammates urged him to attend the Steelers game and coach Jason Garrett, who spoke to the player the day before the game, didn't even know about it until pregame warm-ups.
