Robert Griffin III consoles Tony Romo

With everything that's going on today, there's this little item.

Following the Cowboys loss to the Redskins, Robert Griffin III shook hands with Tony Romo and offered these words:

"Hey Tony. I just wanted to say to you, don’t listen to what anybody else is saying about you. You’re a great quarterback, man. And this game doesn’t mean anything," Griffin said to Romo on audio of the game that will air on Showtime's Inside the NFL on Wednesday night.

Pro Football Talk was the first to report what Griffin said to Romo.

It's been a difficult week for Romo.

Sunday night Romo threw three interceptions in a loss to the Redskins, dropping his record to 1-6 in win-or-go-home games.

Now the best thing to happen for Romo is owner Jerry Jones said he has a future with the Cowboys even though he has one season remaining on his contract.
