Alex Tanney, trick-shot quarterback

OXNARD, Calif. -- If the Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks ever want to kill some time with some trick shots in training camp, then rookie Alex Tanney would have to be considered the favorite.

The Cowboys signed Tanney on Sunday after he passed a physical. He had a record-setting career at Monmouth (Ill.) College with 157 touchdown passes and 14,429 passing yards at the Division III level. He signed with Kansas City last season as an undrafted free agent and was put on injured reserve with a finger injury. The Chiefs cut him in May, and the Cowboys picked him up after cutting Dalton Williams.

While he is still trying to find his way in the NFL game, Tanney has a trick-shot video that is impressive, to say the least.

His first completion as a Cowboy, however, was not as exciting. It was on a screen pass to rookie running back Joseph Randle.
