Joseph Randle ready for first game

OXNARD, Calif. -- It's not a regular-season game, but Cowboys rookie running back Joseph Randle will make his NFL debut in the Hall of Fame game on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

The Cowboys are not expected to play all of their starters because they have five preseason games, so expect Randle to get significant work Sunday.

"When my opportunity comes, I just want to make the most of it," Randle said after the Friday morning walk-through. "I want to make plays and not make any mistakes and run the ball hard. I'm excited. Once you get out there, you have to get to work."

DeMarco Murray understands what Randle is going through. In 2011, Murray, a third-round pick from Oklahoma, was recovering from injuries and didn't make his debut until the third preseason game at Minnesota.

"He's excited and ready to play. It's his first opportunity to show them what he can do. I'm rooting for him," Murray said. "he's going to be nervous but he just has to settle down and play."
