ARLINGTON, Texas -- Zack Martin's preseason consisted of 11 snaps in one game.
A stinger suffered in practice against the St. Louis Rams has kept Martin out of team drills for the last three weeks. He has been able to go through individual and conditioning drills but the Cowboys wanted to limit his contact in order for the nerve to calm down.
When they return to practice Monday, Martin will be on the field.
“Obviously I’d like to have had more reps, but I’ve got to take advantage of what I’ve done and take advantage of this week coming up as we prepare for New York,” Martin said.
One change Martin will see is the neck roll that has been attached to his shoulder pads to help alleviate a possible recurrence. Martin said he wore a neck roll last in high school but doesn’t foresee any problem getting used to it.
And he doesn’t see himself worrying about getting hurt again.
“We talk about there’s only one way to play,” Martin said, “so you can’t think about that kind of stuff.”
