Triceps injury ends Shane Vereen's season

New York Giants running back Shane Vereen will miss the remainder of the season with a triceps injury that requires surgery, the team announced Monday.

Vereen led the Giants through the first three games of the season with 147 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries. He also caught 8 passes for 75 yards.

Vereen got the start in Sunday's loss to the Redskins for Rashad Jennings who missed the game with a thumb injury.
