QB Chase Daniel agrees to deal with Saints

Veteran quarterback Chase Daniel has agreed to a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan on Wednesday.

Daniel, 30, originally signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri back in 2010. He spent three years in New Orleans before signing with the Chiefs in 2013.

After three years in Kansas City, Daniels signed a three-year, $21 million contract -- with $12 million guaranteed -- with the Philadelphia Eagles last season. However, the Eagles released Daniel at his own request last week in a move that freed up $6 million of available cap space.

"I believe I'm a starter in this league," Daniels told 94 WIP.

Daniel, 30, appeared in one game for the Eagles, completing his only pass attempt. He made two starts in his three seasons with the Chiefs. Overall, Daniel has completed 51 of his 78 career pass attempts for 480 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
