The pairing of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and PGA Tour pro John Daly got off to a slow start at the AT&T Pebble beach National Pro-Am on Thursday, tying for 43rd after shooting a 5-under 65 at Monterey Peninsula CC.

Perhaps they were distracted by the monitor on Daly's golf bag. Or maybe it was the fans: Romo, a scratch golfer, spent most of the day getting needled by San Francisco 49ers fans in the gallery. And it didn't help that he was in the same pairing as Giants pitcher Matt Cain.

They're seven strokes behind leaders Bryce Molder and EMC chairman Harry You, who combined for a 12-under at Pebble Beach -- one shot ahead of the D.A. Points-Bill Murray team.
