DeMarcus Ware sits with minor neck strain

IRVING, Texas -- Pro Bowl outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware did not participate in Wednesday's organized team activity due to a neck strain that the team does not consider serious.

"We don't think it's a big deal," coach Jason Garrett said. "He didn't practice today. He should practice tomorrow."

Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said he isn't too concerned about Ware's neck, considering that Ware had sacks on the final four plays of Tuesday's practice. Ware was bothered by a stinger for several weeks at the end of last season.

Defensive end Marcus Spears (neck), nose tackle Jay Ratliff (foot) and defensive lineman Sean Lissemore (side) were among other players who didn't participate in the practice.

"All somewhat superficial," Garrett said of their ailments.
