Will pivotal hole No. 9 decide champ?

FORT WORTH, Texas -- A double bogey for Jason Dufner, his first in the last 147 holes, has set up a dead heat with Zach Johnson heading to the back nine in this final round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

Dunfer's second shot on hole No. 9 landed on the green, but bounced back and splashed in the water. After dropping and getting within 18 feet, he narrowly missed the putt to drop back to minus-14.

Johnson made a nice save on the hole when his second shot, with his left foot on the edge of the bunker and choking down on his club, got onto the green. With a chance for a three-shot swing and the lead on hole No. 9, his 14-foot, six-inch putt lipped out, leaving Johnson to settle for the par and the tie.

For the round, Dufner is plus-1 and Johnson is even.

Still, no one else has made up much ground with Tommy Gainey and John Huh both at minus-7. Gainey is through 13 holes and Huh is through 10.

As for Johnson's course-record 21-under, that would appear to be safe for another year.
