Fort Worth Arlington Heights junior lineman A'Shawn Robinson confirmed in a text message to HornsNation that he's committed to the University of Texas.
"He committed this morning and called coach Mack Brown," Robinson's mother, Abigail, told HornsNation. "We talked about it last night. I didn't know if he was going to do it today."
The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder can play offensive or defensive line, though he told HornsNation earlier this month he'd prefer defense. Robinson picked Texas over Alabama, LSU, TCU, Baylor and several other offers.
"We took time and thought about it and talked it over," Abigail Robinson said. "He had visited other schools, and he wanted to compare them and see what was the place for him. I'm excited he picked Texas, so he can just focus on what he's got to do in high school."
Robinson is joined in Texas' 2013 class by Celina lineman Jake Raulerson and new commit Jake Oliver, the Dallas Jesuit wide receiver who committed on Wednesday morning.
