A Red Oak defense that has allowed only one touchdown in two games will face Ennis in a District 15-4A opener 7:30 p.m. Friday at Billy Goodloe Stadium in Red Oak.
No. 9 Red Oak (2-0) has limited opposing offenses to 157 yards per game while forcing seven turnovers. Two of the turnovers resulted in fumble returns for touchdowns, by Casey Hawkins in a 31-0 shutout of North Garland and Keon Johnson in last week’s 24-10 win at Lake Dallas.
Ishmael Harrison is averaging 18.5 yards per carry with three touchdowns to lead the Red Oak attack.
Ennis (1-1) defeated Red Oak, 55-14, in a bi-district playoff game in 2008, but Red Oak won, 24-12, the last time the schools met in a district game in 2007.
