Southlake Carroll dominated the UIL Class 5A swimming and diving meet last weekend in Austin, with the boys winning the state championship and the girls finishing second.
Frisco's girls also brought back hardware, winning the 4A state meet.
Plano's girls (third) and Plano West's boys (sixth) also finished among the top 10 in Class 5A. In Class 4A, Frisco Wakeland's boys (fourth), Highland Park's girls (sixth), Frisco Liberty's girls (seventh) and Richardson Pearce's boys (eighth) earned top 10 spots.
Eight area athletes won individual state titles:
Girls: Fort Worth Paschal's Julia Anderson (5A 200 freestyle), Hebron's Taylor Temple (5A 100 breaststroke), McKinney's Sammie Hashbarger (4A 100 freestyle) and Frisco's Whitney Allen (4A 100 breaststroke).
Boys: Plano West's Zach Walters (5A 200 freestyle), Southlake Carroll's Bryce Klein (5A 1-meter diving), Richardson Pearce's Adam Bull (4A 200 IM) and Frisco Wakeland's Devin Compan (4A 100 freestyle).
