Injury to OU LB opens door for Skyline's Nelson

Opportunity is knocking for Oklahoma linebacker Corey Nelson, a true sophomore from Dallas Skyline.

Travis Lewis, the Sooners' leading tackler, is out for eight weeks with a broken toe. Nelson is in line to inherit Lewis' playing time at weakside linebacker.

ESPN.com Big 12 blogger David Ubben reports that OU coach Bob Stoops called Nelson the Sooners' most impressive player during the spring.

Lewis' injury means Nelson will get more of a chance to make an impression in the fall.
