There's a nice profile on Argyle outfielder/quarterback Austin Aune over on ESPN RISE.
Aune is balancing his appearance on the Texas' Rangers Area Code Games baseball team with the start of the Eagles' football practice.
Aune has accepted an offer to play football at TCU, but he also plans to play baseball for the Horned Frogs.
Here's an excerpt from the story:
While his prowess in football originally got him the TCU offer, baseball is just as important to Aune.
“My goal and my dream are to play Major League baseball. We’ll have to see how football turns out,” said Aune, who batted .490 each of the past two seasons with seven home runs as a sophomore and six as a junior.
“When TCU offered me for football I told Coach (Gary) Patterson that baseball was a big part of my life,” Aune told ESPN RISE. “He said if I wanted to try and play both he didn’t have a problem with it. He talked to the baseball coach, and they came out to look at me and said, ‘We can use you on the baseball team.'”
